My almost instantly regrettable decision to trade my beloved Miata for a 20 year old multi-colored Subaru ultimately led to a two year love hate relationship. From a thoroughly botched paint job, to a transmission replacement, to pulling the engine… twice, replacing the head gaskets, and eventually racing at Mt. Okemo with the New England Hillclimb Association, this car put me through the ringer but taught me an enormous amount and was truly a joy to drive when it was running well. As my frustration with driving an incredibly unreliable vehicle became unbearable, I made the decision any sane individual would make. I sold my running and driving WRX, and purchased a motor-less 2004 WRX STI.
