Having learned no lessons from my last Subaru, I pulled this 2004 WRX STI from its otherwise final resting place in the woods where it had sat with no motor since 2019. I was able to find a used EJ257 motor online, pick it up with my truck, and give it a minor face lift before installation. After a few weeks of prep work, I was able to get the motor installed, running and driving, and dyno tuned where it made 300HP at the wheels. While it is far from perfect, it is truly a pleasure to drive and a product of my own unwavering will to tinker.
