For the 2021-2022 Baja season, I led a team of five engineering students in the design and build of the braking system. This included characterizing brake force requirements, specking out and ordering calipers, designing mounts, and plumbing a full system of steel braided brake lines. Due to the size constraints of the wheels, we implemented dual calipers on both front portal gearboxes to achieve sufficient braking force with a smaller caliper.
